What color sandal are you?

Lovely Anjali Sandals
I was walking with my Indian friend, Anjali, to the mall last month and she had these bright colored silver sandals that I like to call 'beautifeel': Though I like shoes, I am not very quick to pick them out so can't be sure what they were exactly. Will have to ask her.

Anyway, everywhere she went I felt embarrassed; showing off her feet like she was, while mine covered in a ghastly sneaker. (And was that a gum stuck on the bottom ... yeah, very conscious) I, unfortunately, wanted to be casual that day. I'll spare you the details of my shoe .. let us assume ...oh I don't know ... some blacky looking thing.

Oh, how I wish I could turn back the clock and join her. Her fine figure ... she sure knows how to get others to look elsewhere ... down the pavement in this case. Except the guys of course, duh!. It doesn't phase her that she's an Indian lady walking with a white girl. That's what I like about her.

So, what natural color sandals would you like?

That day brought about fond memories ... and what a way to turn this back to footwear! I don't have as many colourful sandals as Anjali so I just wanted to show a rainbow of option. I use Jildor because everybody already knows Zappos, Ada.

But going back to my survey? What sandal color would you be? Me ... I'm more of a indigo sandals kind of girl.

btw: have you checked these out?

ps: let me know if I missed any color, plz. I don't care about the link

Flat Shoes for Women - Ladies Shoes that Will Open Eyes

How flat shoes rose to the top for me
Gorgeous flats by designers like the Steve Madden and Juicy Couture brand made me a convert.

We all love high heels – few things feel more empowering, sexy, dramatic, and expressive than slipping on a pair of high heels for an event, dinner, or whatever. Who has time for Madden Boots? So it may come as a shock to you to hear that more and more women are discovering, and rediscovering flat shoes as an option for daily wear. Designers have started stepping up to the plate when it comes to style and comfort, and we’re starting to notice as we peruse the fashion magazines to the gossip rags, and especially while shopping.

What has really pushed flat shoes back to the forefront? There was a time when it meant that we were starting to tire from, or –gasp – becoming too old to have heels on all the time. And perhaps some of us still feel that way. But look at what designers from Tory Burch to Marc Jacobs are coming up with, and it’ll be harder to deny that flat shoes are entering a renaissance. From ballet flats to loafers, they’re no longer a more comfortable alternative, but a fashionable alternative when high heels are just not practical to wear.

Some of my favorite flat shoes for women are being designed by my favorite shoe designers overall – Steve Madden. His bold, colorful designs captured my attention since the very beginning, and I think many of my formative, life changing adult experiences have happened when I was wearing a pair of his shoes. So it was no leap for me to try out some Steve Madden flats, like the Kobraa Black Snake, which is my favorite for when I need to look good at the office, and be ready for an impromptu night out.

Steve Madden ballet flats like the P-Jack Natural Snakeskin are just irresistible when you want to catch the eye of someone – whether it’s for admiration or envy. The understated shape of the ballet flat, combined with the snakeskin printed leather creates and eye-catching balance of flamboyance and classic design, while feeling incredibly comfortable to wear. You may not be getting on your toes in these (though you can if you want), but you’ll feel a cut above everyone nevertheless.

When I want to be carded at a bar or club (just a personal ego thing), I love wearing my Juicy Couture. Always colorful, always fresh and casual, and incredibly comfortable, I rarely go through a weekend without wearing something from Juicy. I just added some Juicy Couture flats to my wardrobe, the Edith Silver Nappa with Gold Buckle – which is every bit the Juicy I want in a ballet flat. Shiny, pretty, and amazing with everything from a cocktail dress to a pair of dark blue jeans, these are some of the best flat shoes for women I have ever invested in.

If you still don’t believe that a flat shoe will do it for you, I urge you to go to your nearest online shoe store and try some on. You’ll find that they’re every bit as comfortable and easy to walk in, and you’ll be surprised by the many variations and styles being produced by your favorite designers. Take a look online too – there are plenty of great stores like my old standby Jildor that have an incredible selection for you to look through. I’m pretty sure that it won’t be long before you’re spending more time with some gorgeous flats for your day-to-day life.

What you might not know about Juicy Couture?

Juicy Couture: How Much Do You Know?

How much do you know about your favorite brands, like Juicy Couture? Here are a few things you may not have heard about until reading this.

How did the Juicy Couture begin?

Who doesn’t love Juicy Couture? But apart from its West Coast origins and longstanding popularity with Hollywood celebrities, how much do you know about this much beloved brand? Chances are you didn’t know some of these fun facts.

Juicy Couture history

Now you may know that the Juicy Couture story started in 1996, when founders Pamela Skaist Levy and Gela Taylor came together with a few hundred dollars, a pair of scissors and a bag of t-shirts. But what you may not have heard is that their first step towards becoming fashion icons was through the world of maternity denim. That’s right – they started working together on a collection of jeans for pregnant women back in 1994, called Travis Jeans. The name changed to Juicy Couture in 1996, as the collection also turned towards the trademark sexy look that makes them one of the leading designer fashion brands today.

Juicy Couture fashion - Current trends

Juicy Couture has come a long way since then. Their current collection includes clothing for men as well as children, and there is a plethora of gorgeous Juicy Couture handbags, jewelry, and even irresistible dog accessories. Something you may not know however is that the fame and fortune of this brand has even reached Barbie status. The Juicy Couture Barbie dolls that are inspired by the designs of Ms. Levy and Ms. Taylor wear adorable fashions by the brand from top to toe. The Juicy Couture Barbie phenomenon has come to include everything from faux fur, jewelry and even amazing footwear.

Speaking of amazing footwear, did you also know that this brand also makes shoes – not just for Barbie, but for the rest of us – that are every bit as sexy and feminine as the rest of their clothes? Most people think of Juicy Couture handbags, cute t-shirts and flattering pants when they think of the label. But Juicy Couture flats and wedges are just as equally fashionable and comfortable, and if you didn’t know they existed you should take a closer look. You can find them everywhere your local quality shoe stores, and also in online stores like Jildor Shoes.

Since summer is approaching, Juicy flip flops are looking particularly appealing; they come in several multi color combinations such as brown/pink, navy/red and yellow/navy, and are adorned with the cutest charm detailing. If you want something with a bit more height, these Juicy Couture shoes also come as
Regarding the wedjge, basically the same as the classic flip flop but with a 1.5” wedge or a 3” platform wedge. Or, for a slightly more dressed up pair of Juicy Couture flats, check out the suede upper style flip-flop. Available in a few different colors that are perfect for spring and summer, it comes with a comfy cork foot bed and adjustable vamp straps. An adorable rhinestone encrusted starfish ornament on his shoe will complete your Juicy look.

With the incredible expansion of Juicy Couture into a worldwide tour-de-force in fashion, you may have thought that the original creators Pamela Skaist Levy and Gela Tailor would have kicked back and relaxed by now. You’ll be impressed (and perhaps even comforted if you are a huge Juicy fan) to learn that they are still at the creative helm of Juicy Couture. Liz Claiborne Inc. bought the company in 2003, but the two have remained there as co-presidents.

This brand keeps on surprising and impressing us with their creative genius. Whether we are die hard fans of Juicy Couture handbags or Juicy Couture shoes doesn’t matter – we love the fact that they never grow predictable or boring. And despite their tremendous success since their humble beginnings, they still seem to keep our fashionable comfort as their top priority. That’s something we all most certainly do know and appreciate about Juicy Couture.
