Now you may know that the Juicy Couture story started in 1996, when founders Pamela Skaist Levy and Gela Taylor came together with a few hundred dollars, a pair of scissors and a bag of t-shirts. But what you may not have heard is that their first step towards becoming fashion icons was through the world of maternity denim. That’s right – they started working together on a collection of jeans for pregnant women back in 1994, called Travis Jeans. The name changed to Juicy Couture in 1996, as the collection also turned towards the trademark sexy look that makes them one of the leading designer fashion brands today.
